Photography has always held a fascination for me. My interest began early as I watched my grandfather, Edwin Barber, at work in his darkroom. After school hours often found me watching over his shoulder as he did commercial artist work: developing film, air-brushing photographs or running the printing press.

My interest in portraiture developed from listening to the amazing life stories of my clients during my forty years as a financial advisor. I enjoyed the expressions of their faces as they told of their journey. Today my "darkroom" studio is above my old financial office and my grandchildren often come to watch.

I hope to build a collection of senior citizen portraits that reveal the character of our wonderful community.

My project represents an amateur, freelance endeavor to advance my photography knowledge and expertise.

This is not a business venture.
