"A ship in harbor is safe, but that’s not why ships were built." – John A. Shedd
Ohio State Parks are well maintained and feature an abundance of natural attractions.

Our new Leisure Travel Van's 21 Wonder Rear Lounge was set for its maiden voyage. After the experiences of The Launch, we felt ready to venture out, knowing we were still on a steep learning curve. With more questions than answers but more anticipation than trepidation, we headed east through Ohio to southwest Pennsylvania on a trip that would set the tone for many trips to come.
It was our good fortune that our first stop was the picture-perfect Mohican State Park at Loudenville in northeast central Ohio. Our reserved site was wide, well maintained, level, and close to the natural beauty of this mature state park. There was an abundance of green lawn nearby that added to the sense of space, attention to detail, and relaxation. In addition to peaceful woodlands and a gently flowing river, we visited unique attractions in the area, pursuing our interests in architecture, history, and natural wonder. We’ll return often to this signature park to hike the gravel-lined trails, cross swinging bridges, and float some of the 27 miles of "tubable" river, part of which flows through this signature park. We discovered there are places of Wonder not too far from home.

As shown above, this is a delightful park with wide spaces with lots of lawn, paved parking, and plentiful trees. The river that flows through the camp is widely known for float and kayak adventures. There are 27 miles of floatable river-most of it wide, shallow and easy-flowing.
